Heart Academy of Music is a not-for-profit organization that brings music to people in and around the Springfield area who are needing that extra boost to make it through life's many difficult trials. Organized by Ana Leigh Jantz, Heart Academy embeds "love" and "care" into every service. I wanted the logo to do the same. I used careful precision while drawing and refining the element. I was able to embed the treble clef within the heart form almost seamlessly. It nearly built itself, just like how love and emotion goes hand in hand with music. Working through the Marketing Bunch in Bolivar, Missouri, I have been largely responsible in maintaining a branded image by incorporating logo elements with the rest of the design of the layout of flyers like this. Font means a lot for a design, and so I chose one that would look professional yet bold, two characteristics I am sure OCHC wants to establish as a part of their image to the clients.
This bulletin design was submitted to Dexter Solutions, a marketing and graphics communications company serving religious markets in addition to the hospitality market. Utilizing the given image, text, and dimensions, I chose to set the text in a square format. The difficulty of this piece was making sure that the verse still read in a nice logical flow. I am very happy with the result.
In conjunction with a design team of about 4 individuals, Dexter Solutions was asked to redesign maps for Hyatt Place Hotels in February of 2014. The project required implementing a new branded look to over 150 maps and capacity charts. This map is of Hyatt Place Charlotte-Arrowood after our redesign and is just one example of what the design team accomplished in a two week period.
The Bolivar Schools promotional magazine \"Learning For Life\" was created in order to inform new families and potential employees of what Bolivar, MO has to offer when it comes to education. On my end, I was required to conduct extensive research on good editorial design and page layout. I also spent much of the time editing images and generating ads to bring in revenue to counter balance the cost of printing. The final product was a 36-page full-color publication extensively describing the many perks to being a Bolivar liberator and the programs in the community that support the local education system.
This is the logo design for Stockton United Methodist Church in Stockton, MO. The design was inspired by edgy christian rock music. The logo element is of a house, just as God is our refuge for those who believe in Him, so does a house deliver man shelter in time of a storm.
Dinosaur Hunter is a movie poster designed to parody the typical action films that flood movie theatres every year. The poster required custom photo manipulation and collaging as well as digital painting for blending the images together.
Working in conjunction with Timothy Burgher, we developed a logo to meet the needs of FBC California's Men's Ministry. We used the delta shape to emphasize the 3 purposes of the ministry.
For Cool Tones, a choir for the Conservatory of the Ozarks, I made a fun t-shirt logo design. It included "cool" color tones and the custom-designed music notes to sit in place of the "o"s in "cool." The design was whitty yet sophisticated, perfect for a young girls choir.
For SBU's production of The Sound of Music, I strived for a contemporary and bold look. I was inspired by the three-striped Austrian flag. The downward flow of text produces a negative underlying tone, hinting at the setting of war the musical takes place in. Even so, it also manages to portray the energetic side of the musical as well with the vibrant red and boisterous font.
